Newest carcinogen: smart phones and tablets

June 26th, 2016 by Holly Cornish

Most people confuse popularity with safety. If everybody’s doing it, it must be alright – right? Surely the government – or somebody – has checked it out for safety.

The possible carcinogen I’m going to talk about has taken on a life of its own that we could barely imagine ten short years ago.

In that brief timespan, smartphones and tablet devices have become so ubiquitous in our lives, it’s time to ask whether our constant exposure to their radiation is damaging our health in a serious way. Not to hold in you suspense, the short answer is “yes.”

Friends and family may mock you for expressing this concern. Here’s one stat you can throw back at them: Teens using cellphones are four to five times more likely to get brain cancer in their twenties.

So, you see, the fact that “everybody does it” provides little comfort. Those who buck the status quo and take steps to protect their health will likely be the lucky ones.

Remember the adage “Luck favors the prepared.” Now, let’s take a look at the risks, as far as they can be known this early in the game. . .

A Few Sips a Day,
Keeps Cancer Away…

The Simple Secret That’s Saving Thousands of People Around The World from Deadly Cancers…

The National Cancer Institute confirmed its effectiveness. When the results came in, the NCI researchers were amazed…

In their experiments, cells from six of the deadliest cancers were knocked out – lung cancer, colon cancer, leukemia, ovarian cancer, kidney cancer and melanoma. In every test almost all of the cancer cells were dead. Wiped out within just 48 hours of being exposed to one little-known cancer treatment…

Imagine the millions of lives it could save, Then brace yourself for a shocking surprise…

Sadly, the consequences of such exposure are anything but immediate.

Average latency time between first exposure and cancer diagnosis can be decades. No wonder people are so blasé about it!

Yet we swim in a sea of radio-frequency (RF) radiation unknown in human history.

Our smallest people carry undue risk

The young may be the most vulnerable. As of 2013, 20 million American children under the age of 14 owned a cellphone. And nearly four out of ten kids under age two use tablets and smartphones. Yes, before they can even string a sentence together.1

Kids who can’t even talk yet walk up to TV screens and swipe them like iPhones or iPads. Yet the iPad is only six years old as I write this.

Now they’re used as instant babysitters, pacifiers, and modern-day security blankets. Research shows that ten percent of children under four go to bed with a tablet.

Meanwhile, teens spend a shocking nine hours a day glued to devices (including TV). Only three percent of that time is creative. The rest of the time they’re consuming video, music, and social media. (A poor use of their time, as far as this old fogey is concerned.)

Psychologist Sue Palmer is worried, saying babies need laps, not apps. Face time, not screen time. Real people, not caricatures.

She calls on parents to limit screen time and spend time playing together.

Cell-disruptors in a case

A cellphone is essentially a two-way microwave radio with intermittent destabilizing pulses… unlike your microwave oven that steadily operates at the same frequency.

These weak, erratic radio waves don’t directly break molecular bonds. But they do disrupt your DNA, weaken your brain’s protective barrier, and shoot off an avalanche of free radicals.

iPads are even more dangerous than other computers for two reasons:

  1. They connect to the Internet via wireless, so RF radiation exposure is guaranteed.
  2. Due to their small size and tactile screens, magnetic field exposure is also guaranteed.

It’s not all in your head…

Are these devices killing us slowly?

Multiple studies link RF exposure with several types of cancer, neurological disease, reproductive problems, immune disorders, electromagnetic hypersensitivity (headaches, dizziness, tremors, decreased memory, sleep disturbances), and more.

[Please note: This is not a clarion call to throw out all your electronic gadgets. Just a call to recognize safety risks… and adopt “best practices” to minimize exposure. So keep reading.]

Physical risks are particularly great for pregnant women, men who want to protect their family line, and children.

Kids’ skulls are thinner and more absorbent than those of adults.2 3 The American Academy of Pediatrics warns parents against infant apps, calling them radio transmitters, not toys.

Reproduction experts say cellphones wreck male sperm. Sperm die three times faster, swim more poorly, and develop DNA damage more easily.4 5

Women carrying their cell phones in their bras are asking for breast cancer. And pregnant women are advised to avoid cell phones as much as possible.6

Every major well-designed study has found that routinely using cellphones for 30 minutes a day over more than ten years doubles the risk of brain cancer for adults.7

And the World Health Organization (WHO) calls it a Type 2B Possible Carcinogen.

The warnings no one reads

Apple says, “Read all safety information below and operating instructions before using iPad to avoid injury.”

So have you read their warnings? Probably not, because the booklet is so tiny it takes a magnifying glass to read it.

Here’s what it says (in larger print):

“iPad contains radio transmitters and receivers. When on, iPad sends and receives radio frequency (RF) energy through its antenna. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® antennas are located behind the screen to the left of the Home button, and behind the Apple logo… A cellular antenna is located at the top edge of iPad Wi-Fi+3G, when oriented with the Home button at the bottom.”

…Always follow these instructions and precautions: Orient the device in portrait mode with the Home button at the bottom of the display, or in landscape mode with the cellular antenna (located under the black edge at the top of the device) away from your body or other objects..”

Ignore this, and you’ll exceed government limits for human exposure – which, by the way, have not been revised for 19 years.

What technology CEOs know that you don’t

Several months after the iPad came out, Steve Jobs, pressed by the media, admitted his children had never used the iPad. Seems Steve and his wife strictly limited their kids’ technology use.8

As do several other tech CEOs. What do they know that the rest of us don’t?

They mention harmful content, bullying, addiction…

They failed to mention that every hour of iPad exposure shoots a shocking 900 blasts of RF EMRs. One every four seconds.9 When you’re not downloading.

The #1 way to protect from RF radiation

Mobile safety standards were developed based on a large male in the top five percent for size, using a phone less than 30 minutes a day. How on earth do you protect smaller people of any age?

Rule #1: Never ever let mobile devices touch your (child’s) body…

No matter how much you restrict their screen time. Distance is your friend.

Protective measures you can take today

Since you probably won’t (or can’t) stop using devices, take these steps to downsize your health risks:

  1. Limit exposure. Time is a major risk factor. The biggest problem with these devices is sheer abuse. People are on them too much, compulsively. Push away, unplug, take a high tech hiatus. Or, perish the thought, go old school and use a landline whenever possible.
  2. Distance. Don’t carry your cell phone on your body. Keep it as far away from you as possible.Don’t hold your cellphone to your ear. Text, or use your speakerphone or a hollow air tube headset with no wires. (Wires are conductive.) Keep calls short.Never use devices on your lap. At least put a pillow between it and you.
  3. If you must carry your smartphone in your pocket, face the front to your body so radiation points away from you.
  4. Turn off all devices at night. (Or put them in airplane mode… safer, but not perfect.) Balance this against your perceived need to make emergency calls, of course.
  5. Keep your phone far from your bed. Sleep is your body’s regenerative time and you don’t want to impede that.
  6. Turn off your wireless router at night.
  7. Pregnant women should keep devices away from their abdomen – and themselves.
  8. Never let infants and children play with or use devices, except in true emergencies. By the time researchers confirm how bad it is, it’ll be too late for them. Use caution.
  9. Eat lots of green vegetables. Get quality sleep in a dark room to enhance DNA repair.
  10. Likewise, use natural supplements known to reduce cellular damage, such as alpha lipoic acid, vitamins C and E.
  11. Never use your phone with a weak signal. That’s when your phone emits the MOST radiation trying to connect to the cell tower.
  12. Use a holster with belt clip. Not perfect, but offers a barrier.
  13. Use a separate keyboard and mouse with your laptop.
  14. Use your laptop unplugged in battery mode whenever possible. This reportedly slashes EMF exposure by 50-80%.
  15. Use hardwired Ethernet connections as much as possible.
  16. Use iPad in airplane mode, with Wi-fi turned “off”. Don’t download in the presence of children. Never place a device on your lap, next to your child, or in bed with a child.10
  17. Defender Pad is third party tested to be 99.9-100% effective.
  18. Use a grounding pad while using your devices.

There’s a plethora of new solutions flooding the market. Do your due diligence and spend your dollars wisely. Many on this list are completely free.

Will we look back 50 years from now only to discover how gadgets were tied to the biggest health disaster in history? As Dr. Martin Black says, “Cancers do not form overnight.”

Phew! We probably don’t need another thing to worry about, but there you have it. Our last issue talked about something more cheerful – a substance found in food that helps you prevent cancer. If you missed the article, it’s reappearing just below.

This Natural Substance in Vegetables
Clobbers a Major Cause of Cancer

Men, if you’ve noticed you’re growing a spare tire around your waist lately…

…and ladies, if you’re been experiencing hot flashes, mood swings, or maybe some extra padding on your tummy and hips…

…you might chalk it up to normal aging. But scientists have found a surprising cause for these changes in a condition they call ‘estrogen dominance.’ Modern industrial societies are drowning in huge amounts of “bad estrogen.” But there’s a simple vegetable extract that can help you fix the problem…

The secret to curing cancer:
You’ve been throwing it in the trash!

In 1921, a British doctor discovered that members of a remote native tribe were almost totally cancer-free. But when members of this tribe move away from their native land and change their diet, they get cancer just like anyone else.

It’s all thanks to a food most of us throw away as waste — a food that’s rich in amygdalin — what most of us call Laetrile. Click here now and watch a video presentation about this cancer breakthrough. One cancer expert calls this overlooked food “the key to curing AND preventing cancer” — and you can benefit now — without going to a doctor or buying expensive supplements.

This little throwaway food tastes great. Bill Clinton, of all people, eats a certain amygdalin-rich food all the time, and so can you. Click here now to watch the video!

Although both sexes need the hormone estrogen to regulate growth and metabolism, you should know that there are both beneficial and harmful kinds of estrogen in your body.

And it’s important to know that too much of the wrong kind has been linked to health problems ranging from weight gain and decreased libido to heart problems and cancer.

But the good news is that studies show a nutrient called DIM (short for di-indolyl methane) increases your metabolism of estrogen to help protect your health.

According to the National Cancer Institute, this nutrient is abundant in a variety of vegetables including:

  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Brussel sprouts
  • Cabbage
  • Collard, mustard, and kale greens
  • Watercress

Before you learn how DIM helps shield you from cancer—first let me tell you more about the problems that come from having too much estrogen…

Estrogen, estrogen EVERYWHERE!

Your body naturally produces the good form of estrogen called 2-hydroxy estrogen. But it might surprise you to know that in 2003, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) added estrogen to its list of known cancer-causing agents.

The group said there’s strong evidence linking the hormone to breast, endometrial, and uterine cancers. Now please be clear: It’s not the natural hormone by itself that causes problems…

In study findings published in the April 1, 2003 Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, lead study author Dr. Hari Bhat found that estrogen had to experience oxidation in order to become carcinogenic.

Oxidation is caused by dangerous free radicals that can roam your body and damage otherwise healthy cells.

But a type of fake estrogen called xenohormones can cause even more cell damage than the oxidation of your body’s natural estrogen.

Xenohormones are NOT the natural hormones your body makes. They’re manufactured forms of estrogen that are just about everywhere in the environment. Strictly speaking, these industrial products are not true estrogen — they just mimic the hormone.

You absorb them almost daily when you come in contact with industrial products such as:

  • Car exhaust
  • Carpeting, rugs
  • Furniture
  • Perfume
  • Plastics
  • Room deodorizers
  • Soaps

There’s an almost endless list of sources of these fake hormones or “hormone impersonators.” In America, nearly all livestock (unless organic) are fed estrogenic drugs to fatten them. When you eat the meat, you’re eating the hormones as well.

Chemical pesticides, herbicides and fungicides often contain xenohormones (also called xenoestrogens). When you eat plants that have been grown with chemical help, it’s almost certain you’re taking in a dose of the fake hormones.

And our old friend BPA also promotes the creation of xenohormones (see Issues #17 and #196.) You may recall that BPA is a toxic chemical found in many plastic bottles and the lining of cans. We’ve been saying for years that BPA’s signature toxic quality is its ability to mimic estrogen. The chemical is abundant in the body of nearly every man, woman and child in the United States.

Fake hormones mess up your real ones. . .

When fake estrogen enters your bloodstream, it can change the way your body produces and metabolizes natural hormones. Another name for xenohormones or xenoestrogens is “endocrine disrupting compounds” or EDCs. In plain English, this means they disrupt the body’s natural hormone-producing organs.

There are also natural substances in plants, called phytoestrogens, that mimic the action of human estrogens and are also classified as “xenoestrogens.” Soy is a major source of phytoestrogens and for that reason I avoid eating soy products such as tofu. Some authorities dispute whether phytoestrogens pose a danger, but I’m not taking any chances.

But when it comes to human-made xenohormones, there’s no doubt. According to the book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer: How Hormone Balance Can Help Save Your Life, xenohormones “play a large role in the high rate of breast cancer in Westernized countries.”

Authors John R Lee, M.D., David Zava, Ph.D., and Virginia Hopkins explain that xenohormones easily pass through your skin and accumulate in your body over time.

The excess estrogen eventually causes cell damage that leads to various health problems, including heart disease and the growth of cancer cells in a woman’s breasts or a man’s prostate. The buildup of estrogen becomes a more serious concern as you age.

That’s why you need DIM, which I like to call the broccoli extract. Despite the fact that both natural and fake estrogens can build up in your body, studies show DIM can help you eliminate fake estrogen before it wrecks your health…

DIM chokes, pummels and CRUSHES cancer cells!

A number of studies support the idea that DIM may be one of the most effective nutrients for the prevention and treatment of breast, prostate, colon and pancreatic cancers.

It has a unique ability to choke and starve cancer cells by cutting off their feeding tube. How so?

Well, in order for cancer cells to grow and thrive, they need a continuous blood supply. In fact, cancers use a process called angiogenesis to create their own blood supply. Preventing angiogenesis is a major aim of cancer treatment.

DIM can help. A study published in the May, 2008 Biochemical Pharmacology Journal showed that DIM actually stops tumors from completing this process that will create a tumor’s blood supply. And that’s not all…

Researchers also found that using DIM increased the oxygen level of tumor cells. As you might know, cancer cells HATE oxygen! Cancer thrives best in cells that have oxygen deficiencies.

In another study reported in the April 22, 2008 Pharmaceutical Research, scientists found that even low doses of DIM triggered apoptosis—or natural, programmed cell death—in prostate cancer cells. Promoting apoptosis is another major aim of cancer treatment.

Stops the spread of cancer cells, too

Another of DIM’s protective features is its ability to prevent the spread of cancer cells. In the March 28, 2008 Cancer Letter, researchers reported that many organs secrete molecules called ligands that bind to receptors on cancer cells.

They found that DIM regulates both the secretion of ligands and the receptor sites. In repressing this mechanism, their results suggest that DIM provides protection against breast, ovarian, and possibly other cancers, too.

DIM is a hands-down champion when it comes to battling harmful cancer. And as previously mentioned—this protective nutrient is found abundantly in many cruciferous vegetables.

But some folks may have a hard time digesting these vegetables or don’t want to deal with some of their mild, but unpleasant side effects such as indigestion or gas.

In this case, you might consider taking a DIM supplement to reap the advantages of its health-saving potential.

You may find that battling estrogen overload with DIM will also help you enjoy a healthier heart… reduce your cancer risk… and maybe even restore some youthful vigor. Eat some today!

Now, if you’ve read our Complete Guide to Alternative Cancer Treatments (and if you have a good memory!) you already know about DIM. It’s on page 99 of this 460-page tome that covers hundreds of different cancer treatments. If you don’t already own this valuable reference work, you’re in luck — because it’s FREE when you become a member of our “gold club,” the Alternative Cancer Research Institute or ACRI.

The Complete Guide to Alternative Cancer Treatments aims to cover every treatment that exists. The problem is, even though we’ve identified more than 350 treatments, we keep finding new ones! Every time we do, we send ACRI members an email alert that tells them all about it. Then we add the new discovery to the online database that forms the basis of The Complete Guide.

So please click here to find out more. That way you will NEVER miss a possible cancer treatment. This book has them all. It’s an exceptional service.
