Everybody knows someone who has cancer, whether it’s a family member, friend, or co-worker. It’s become a routine part of life in our society. In fact, it’s grown so pervasive that a New York Times article posited that everyone who lives long enough will eventually suffer from some kind of cancer.1
The cancer epidemic makes it even more vital that we understand exactly what cancer is and why it occurs.
Despite common beliefs, “only about 5% to 10% of all cancers directly result from gene mutations inherited from a parent.”2
And the dirty secret that takes so many victims by surprise? A shocking 70 to 75 percent of cancer cases come from one single cause…
60 is the New 40
(No longer reserved for the very rich)
Only a few years ago, scientists identified a major cause of aging – and how you can stop it or even reverse it to stay young.
This secret to living a longer, more vibrant life is already sleeping in your cells. You just have to shake it awake!
But like many new discoveries, the technology you need to preserve your cells’ telomeres started out being extremely expensive. It could easily cost $10,000 or more. Only Hollywood moguls and other members of the wealthy one percent could afford it.
Now that’s changed – the breakthrough is affordable. Just imagine. . .
If you’d like to stay young (or just slow down how fast you’re getting old!)…
This may be the most important message you’ve ever received.
The world’s most trusted news outlets are calling it the biggest “against all odds” medical story so far in the 21st century… Everyone raves about it…
…AARP Magazine, CNN, Reader’s Digest, Popular Science, Smithsonian Magazine, BBC News, Oprah Magazine, Reuters, Scientific American, GQ, L.A. Times, The Daily Mail, USA Today, Vanity Fair, The Boston Globe, Shape Magazine, Glamour and The New York Times…
So what’s the cause of most cancers? Toxins… according to American Medical Research LLC.3
It’s not hard to figure out (provided you’re not a conventional M.D.) that avoiding as many toxins as you can and regularly detoxing your body could be a massively important part of your game plan for preventing and treating cancer.
And it may be easier than you think, because…
All you have to do is press “go!”
Your body already has the necessary mechanisms in place for cleaning out substances that don’t belong there, as long as the damage isn’t too pervasive. The body uses seven primary organs and systems to naturally expel toxins – and all you have to do is give them a helping hand.
The Baseline of Health Foundation asserts that “blood is actually an organ, like your liver and kidneys. In other words, it is a ‘group of tissues of different kinds’ that functions as one system and that performs a ‘specific’ function or group of functions.”4
Blood transports nutrients throughout your body and toxins out of your body, helps protect you from infection, and keeps your body in balance – a function known as homeostasis.
Both echinacea and goldenseal can help purify your bloodstream of pathogens and other foreign substances.5
When most people think of detoxing their bowels, they assume it ends at flushing out old waste from the colon. And while that’s part of it – you also want to clear the drainpipe and get rid of any heavy metals or drug residue that have built up – it’s important to take positive action and promote good bacteria as well.
One of the most important ways to clear the pipes is to boost your fiber intake. The more fiber you consume, the faster it passes through your system… and less time in your system means less opportunity for waste to build up and putrefy.
Insoluble fiber doubles as a satiating element (meaning fiber is a calorie-free food that makes you feel full), so it may also help you shed a few pounds. Good examples of high-fiber food include celery and apples (especially the peel).
Add a high-quality probiotic to your daily routine as well. Or better yet, eat a few forkfuls of organic raw sauerkraut every day.
Just because you’ve never suffered the excruciating pain of kidney stones doesn’t mean your kidneys are fine and dandy. According to Baseline of Health Foundation, nearly everyone has a certain amount of sludge and some loss of kidney function.6
The Global Healing Center lists four drinks that can help cleanse your kidneys:7
- Cranberry Juice
- Beet Juice
- Lemon Juice
- Other Juice Cleanses
Your liver is your body’s key filter… and therefore one of its primary locations for storing fats, gallstones, poisons, drug residue, old cholesterol, and other toxins. As you consume toxins, sugars, alcohol, and other substances, you force your liver to clean up. But if it gets overwhelmed, it’ll stop functioning like it should.
One liver cleanse that’s frequently recommended is a castor oil treatment. I’m an agnostic on whether it’s a good idea, but here it is. . .
- A hot water bottle
- Castor oil (try a small amount on your skin first to test for allergies)
- Cotton flannel cloth, approximately 8×10 inches
- A plastic bag a bit larger than your cloth
Fill the hot water bottle with hot (but not scalding) water. Take a few tablespoons of castor oil and spread it evenly on the flannel cloth.
Lying down, place the cloth over your liver, just beneath your rib cage on the right side. Place the bag on top, then the hot water bottle. Relax there for 30 to 60 minutes.
Perhaps more practical is a liver-supporting supplement like silymarin.
You may believe that if you’ve never smoked, your lungs are fine. And while it’s true that you’re better off, you’ve probably still inhaled countless toxins over the years, especially if you live in a polluted area or have radon in your home or office.
Practicing deep breathing can help increase your lung capacity, which will provide your body with more oxygen.
Herbs that are said to help cleanse your lungs and airways include ginger, peppermint, oregano, and licorice.8
6. Lymphatic System
Your lymphatic system is the circulatory part of your body’s waste elimination system. If your blood system is a food delivery service, your lymphatic system is the garbage truck that comes to take out the trash.
But while your blood has the heart to keep it flowing throughout your body, your lymphatic system has no such pump engine. You have to be the one who keeps your lymph fluids moving. If you don’t, the lymph glands can clog up and stall…. meaning that germs have free reign to flourish while your immune system becomes ever more susceptible to disease – and yes, even cancer.
While there are many theories about how to keep your lymphatic system functioning at its best, here are a few helpful steps you can take:
Dry skin brushing. Sweep a soft brush made with natural fibers along your skin toward your heart. Do this all over your body for about five to ten minutes daily.
Manual lymph drainage. Some massage therapists and other practitioners perform this gentle bodywork therapy meant to increase lymphatic flow.
Rebounding. This’ll have you breaking out your inner child again! For ten minutes per day, get up and bounce on a mini-trampoline or large exercise ball. It’s energizing and healthy – and it moves your lymph fluids. If you Google “rebounder” you can find one of these little trampolines online.
As the largest organ in your body, your skin has the potential to expel a boatload of toxins from your body. But it also absorbs a huge number of toxins from pollution and from soaps and lotions containing toxic ingredients.
Your skin is also an outer reflection of what’s going on inside your body – especially the foods you eat, from sugars and corn syrup to pesticide residue on produce to antibiotic-laced meats.
A key way your skin expels toxins is through sweat. That may be one of the reasons why those who exercise have a better shot at avoiding cancer, and better outcomes even after diagnosis.
So work out at least four times a week. Also try out the sauna at your gym or spa, or consider buying one for your home. You can also relax and detox at the same time by taking a hot bath with a cup each of Epsom salts and unfiltered apple cider vinegar added to your bath water.
While you don’t have to detox all of your body at once, it’s important – both in the fight against cancer and for maintaining your overall health – to keep toxins moving out of your body.
Your all-important cancer-beating strategy
Reducing your exposure to toxins slashes the risk that your system will become overwhelmed with poisonous substances.
Why not make life easier on yourself by choosing more natural cleaning and beauty products, and organic and hormone-free foods… and avoiding chemical sprays in your yard, amalgam (mercury) fillings in your teeth, and unnecessary drugs?
It’s impossible to avoid every toxin on earth – after all, there are many. But every single step you take helps decrease your toxic load. Don’t scorn a 25 or 30% reduction in toxins. It may be the difference between life and death.
