Tropical plant beats $100,000 cancer drug
April 24th, 2016 by Holly Cornish
Ten years ago, we published a book called Natural Cancer Remedies that Work, featuring the best cancer solutions I could find back then. Seven of the ten remedies continue to be among my top recommendations and the other three are effective too, although they wouldn’t be my first choices for treatment today.
Now, new research from January provides dramatic new proof for one of them — an all-natural plant that could pose a serious challenge to conventional medicine’s go-to $100,000 cancer drug.
This unbelievably expensive drug adds just a few months to the life of the typical patient. And even that is doubtful.
Meanwhile, the natural remedy could save or extend the lives of millions… specifically the 1.4 million who die from lung cancer every year, or the 1.6 million who are newly diagnosed annually.
And that’s just for starters… because this “natural remedy that works” is also a potent treatment for other cancers, not just lung cancer. In fact, the benefits extend beyond cancer to other health issues.
Read on for its startling promise… and a taste you won’t soon forget.
Cancer Cells Destroyed by Eating This 1 Food?
There is a cancer-killing nutrient in your kitchen, right now, that acts like a “smart bomb” against cancer cells.
It’s one of the main phytonutrients in a specific type of food. Researchers are hailing it as a breakthrough that offers real hope for preventing and defeating cancer.
A new research study has shown for the first time how this nutrient can selectively target and kill cancer cells. At the same time, it leaves healthy cells alone. The findings are breakthrough for the potential use of this food in cancer prevention and treatment.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg…
I’m Dr. Victor Marchione and I’m revealing this and 16 other amazing “healing foods” in my newest report that you can see here.
Along with the “Cancer Smart Bomb,” you’ll also discover:

Two big problems with
conventional medicine’s go-to drug…
Nearly 85 percent of all lung cancer cases are classified as non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Though chemotherapy is the conventional treatment, the response rate is extremely meager – only 20 to 35 percent survive as much as 10 to 12 months.
A study showed that the class of drugs like erlotinib improved lung cancer survival rate for late-stage NSCLC.
But the problem, as you might suspect, is this…
It comes with major side effects, AND it generates cancer mutations – new strains of cancer in the patient’s body – that are highly resistant to drugs.
The side effects include weakness, diarrhea, rash, shortness of breath, coughing, loss of appetite, fatigue, and nausea.
But wait – those are just the mild side effects. It gets worse. Much worse.
You can also suffer very serious side effects, such as interstitial lung disease, liver and kidney problems, blistering and skin peeling, holes in your GI tract, bleeding and clotting problems leading to heart attacks and strokes, dry eyes, unusual eyelash growth, swelling of the cornea, and death.
That’s pretty disconcerting for a treatment your drug-resistant cancer stem cells can survive and even profit from.
Here’s the other thing they don’t tell you about…
Then there’s the extraordinarily high cost of these drugs, despite their rather negligible gains.
A 2010 Medscape article evaluated the cost-to-benefit ratio for erlotinib… which became the standard of care for NSCLC in the U.S. and Canada even though it showed a mere two-month improvement in overall survival rate in patients who’d failed other chemo efforts.
This article calculated how much these small gains cost in dollars-per-survival-year terms. And it’s not a rosy picture, unless you’re the last of the big spenders.
Erlotinib treatment costs averaged $94,638 (in Canadian dollars, 2007) per life-year gained…
…with a range of $59,359 up to a shocking $429,148 per year of life gained (bearing in mind that most people didn’t gain a full year)!
The search for a cheap natural alternative is a no-brainer
In the light of Big Pharma’s track record, what I’m about to share with you is happy news indeed.
A hot-off-the-press study published in the journal Food and Function in January 2016 found that a leaf extract from the noni tree (also called Morinda citrifolia) was more effective than the commonly used $100,000 drug.
In this study, conducted using mice with lung cancer, a Malaysian team of researchers compared the effectiveness of the drug erlotinib (trade name Tarceva) to a noni leaf extract. They discovered that 21 days of leaf extract was better than erlotinib at suppressing lung tumor growth.
Remarkably, researchers also observed that the noni leaf modulated quite a number of other biological pathways with no adverse effects:
- Boosting blood lymphocyte counts
- Increasing T & natural killer (NK) immune system cells
- Boosting spleen tissue B cells
- Reducing epidermal growth factor receptors (EGFR)
- Suppressing COX2 inflammatory markers
Compare that to the dismal drug outcomes. And noni leaf extract only costs around $50 per 12-ounce bottle. No comparison to $94,000!
So how does it work?
Unlike chemo, noni is an exceedingly complex biological matrix containing hundreds of naturally occurring and interwoven phytochemicals. Its sheer complexity and nutrient density is astounding.
Noni is rich in epicatechin and scopoletin, which may suppress lung cancer by stimulating immune responses, and by modulating cancer cell gene signaling pathways, biasing cancer cells against proliferation and towards apoptosis or natural death.
It achieves all this, our sources say, without side effects.
Noni suppresses key inflammation markers and inhibits many markers involved in cancer proliferation and angiogenesis.
Now a bit of clarification is in order. The remarkable recent findings involve a leaf extract, which is different from noni fruit juice or fruit extract, which is what most previous studies were about, and what I first wrote about ten years ago…
- 2012 – The Indian Journal of Molecular Medicine showed that noni fruit juice down-regulates the lung cancer inflammatory process in humans, suggesting it could be therapeutic for all inflammation-based lung diseases, not just lung cancer.
- 2001 – The Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences study found that noni fruit juice could prevent DMBA-DNA adduct formation in mice lungs.
- 1999 – Phytotherapeutic Research found that the fruit juice of noni promoted antitumor activity in mice.
In fairness, it’s important to note that noni is far from the only natural substance showing anti-cancer activity against lung cancer.
Useful for more than lung cancer
A 2010 study showed that noni can help mediate apoptosis in liver cancer cell lines.
In 2015, research showed that it was an adjuvant for chemotherapy using the drug doxorubicin (DOX). Not just an adjunct, but also a way to markedly improve results with DOX.
And noni’s major bioactive component, damnacanthal, was shown to suppress inflammation both in vivo and in vitro. Making it a force to be reckoned with for ANY inflammatory disease.
Overall, noni should be considered a food with important anticancer benefits.
As often is the case with plant foods, noni fruit has been used as a folk remedy for far more issues than science has yet studied, including the following:
- Relieves pain
- Fights heart disease – helps with high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke.
- Strengthens immune system
- Fortifies cellular structures
- Reduces symptoms of fibromyalgia and asthma
- Helps control diabetes and blood sugar levels
- Fights depression by modulating brain hormones
- Helps promote weight loss
- Helps treat migraines and addictions
- Cuts cholesterol levels
- Boosts memory
- Strengthens your nervous system
But noni has an unsavory side
Traditional healers of the Pacific Islands have used noni for centuries – for many purposes.
But noni is also the butt of many jokes, and has been tagged with a list of unflattering nicknames. Consider these:
- Cheese fruit
- Vomit fruit
- Forbidden fruit
- Starvation fruit
It earned the name “starvation fruit” because it was so vile, repulsive, and awful tasting that the locals only ate noni if it was the last thing growing and starvation was the clear alternative.
Plus if you try to make it palatable by adding sugar, you neutralize its key benefits.
Your best bet may be to just swig an ounce and have a glass of water ready to chase it. Or better yet, take it in capsule form. Down the hatch quickly, and you barely taste anything.
While it’s true that noni “boasts” a taste you won’t soon forget… it’s worth asking yourself if being well is worth the bitter, unsavory taste.
Lastly, lung cancer is one of the most commonly over-diagnosed and over-treated cancers today, according to a 2013 JAMA report commissioned by the National Cancer Institute.
So please, please… always get a second opinion, allowing you to make the most informed choice possible.

You Probably Routinely Toss This Potent
Cancer Fighter in the Trash
I’d like to give you a quiz to find out if you have healthy eating habits. It has only one question:
Do you eat the seed?
While a few might say ‘yes,’ most of us pitch the seeds in the trash.
Ask yourself… When was the last time you ate an apple all the way through the core? Or dug out the soft seed from inside the hard peach seed? Or ate an avocado seed?
Why do we throw away the seed when it’s nature’s most nutrient-dense food, rich in healing power? Bitter taste, indigestible husk…
Not only do we throw them away in our kitchens, we also try to breed them out of existence. Enter seedless grapes, seedless watermelons…
I can’t say enough to encourage you to eat whole, unadulterated non-GMO plant seeds. Especially this one…

Need a New Knee or Hip? Maybe Not!
Stanford doctors have discovered a NEW pain-stopping solution that gets to the real root cause of your pain and finally ENDS your years of torture!
Now there’s no question why you’re still in pain. In fact, one of these doctors said, and I quote, “We’ve been treating joint pain the wrong way for over 40 years. . .”
So if you’ve been told that the only way to get rid of your pain was to eventually get a knee or hip replacement. . .
. .or that to get rid of your back pain, shoulder pain or other joint pain you’ll have to keep on taking NSAID pain pills that doctors know are actually harmful. . .
. .or even worse you’ll have to endure a series of expensive, painful shots, even though they don’t give you lasting relief. . .
This new breakthrough means you’re in for a pleasant surprise! Click here to keep reading. . .
One seed far surpasses all others in nutritional AND medicinal power. In fact, a whopping 630 scientific peer-reviewed articles have been published about the seed of this one plant.
And most Americans have never even heard of it.
It goes by many names: black cumin, black caraway, black sesame, onion seed, and Roman coriander. Its official name is Nigella sativa.
“Black seed” is more of a description than an actual name, but that’s what it most often goes by.
Experts claim black seed is a remedy for practically everything – from allergies to hypertension to cancer. Perhaps its greatest promise is its newfound ability to heal superbugs, which are becoming a genuine health threat.
Superbugs resist antibiotics, but not black seed
Antibiotic-resistant bacteria and viruses, including staph, TB, gonorrhea, candida, malaria, and HIV, are becoming almost impossible to treat. Five to ten percent of hospital patients suffer superbug infections, resulting in longer hospital stays, more complicated treatments, and more difficult recoveries.1
Sadly, 90,000 of these patients die every year. (For point of reference, that’s up from 13,300 patient deaths in 1992. It’s turned into an epidemic.)
So you need to know about a study that pitted black seed oil against several antibiotics (amoxicillin, gatifloxacin, tetracycline). Out of 144 strains of infectious bacteria tested, most were resistant to multiple antibiotics. But black seed oil stopped 97 of the 144.
It even worked against the multi-drug-resistant strains of P. aeruginosa and S. aureus, which you probably know as MRSA. MRSA is plaguing hospitals and nursing homes around the world. At highest risk are the elderly, cancer patients, and people with weak immune systems.
Each and every MRSA strain Pakistani scientists studied was sensitive to black seed, proving its efficacy against this deadly pathogen.
Black seed’s three powerhouse chemicals
Black seed boasts three key anti-inflammatory chemicals that work individually and collectively:
- Thymoquinone (TQ)
- Thymohydroquinone (THQ)
Researchers have studied TQ since the 1960s. It is widely recognized for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties.2 TQ acts as a free radical scavenger and even a superoxide radical scavenger. In addition, this chemical found in black seed supports the liver-protecting enzymes glutathione peroxidase and glutathione-S-transferase.
THQ is TQ’s ‘cousin’ and one of the most potent natural acetylcholinesterases (AChE) inhibitors on earth. AChE inhibitors are chemicals that halt the activity of the acetylcholinesterase enzyme – thereby boosting neuro-transmitter activity in your brain.
AChE inhibitors are used medically for neuro-degenerative conditions including Alzheimer’s disease, other types of dementia, glaucoma, and Parkinson’s disease.
And to think you can do likewise with a humble little black seed!
The third active ingredient in black seed is Thymol, which gives thyme essential oil its medicinal characteristics. Thymol kills TB bacteria and other microbes and is a disinfectant.
‘For cancer, put raw seeds ahead of all other treatments’
So says Bradford S. Weeks, M.D., an exciting speaker at a cancer seminar I attended recently.
Because cancer and aging are closely linked to inflammation, we need living foods that contain absorbable bioavailable nutrients, DNA and RNA. RNA commands every cell’s DNA what to do, how to adapt, and what to express genetically.
And seeds contain those blueprints for life. Especially the black seed.
Studies show that chemo enriches and repopulates cancer stem cells, the dangerous ones that survive chemotherapy and metastasize.3This is why chemotherapy is, by and large, a failed treatment. The cells you most need to kill actually survive and thrive, and your cancer returns.
But anti-inflammatory seeds, especially black seed, help inhibit metastases, making them powerful medicine of the best kind.
TQ in black seeds triggers apoptosis in human cancer cells, anti-proliferation, cell cycle arrest, ROS generation, anti-metastasis and anti-angiogenesis.4.5
These anti-tumor effects have been studied in mice models for colon, prostate, pancreatic and lung cancer.
Dr. Weeks says TQ also reduces chemo’s toxicity, if you decide to choose conventional treatments.
Across the board health benefits…
If you’re looking for general good health, rather than trying to solve a specific medical problem, black seed has you covered.
Liver. Don’t leave your liver to chance. This organ cleanses your system of toxins. Your liver bile is critical for digesting fats, and keeping your mind and body happy. Chinese medicine claims, &He who knows how to harmonize the liver knows how to treat a hundred diseases.”
If your liver is functioning poorly due to medication, alcohol, or disease, black seeds could greatly speed your healing.6
Diabetes and weight loss. Black seed is one of the few substances suggested for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Research shows it:
- Reduces appetite, glucose absorption, blood glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides
- Helps you lose weight
- • Stimulates glucose-induced secretion of insulin from pancreatic beta-cells.7
…all with no side effects. Which is huge, because Metformin, one of the most commonly prescribed type 2 diabetes drugs is loaded with side effects.
Though not typically used to treat obesity, black seed has helped millions shed excess weight.
Hair and skin. Want beauty the non-toxic way?
Black seed has an uncanny ability to help restore hair loss… and even to turn gray hair back to its original color, according to Dr. Weeks. He said the wife of one of his patients complained that his hair looked dirty. The reason was that the patient’s white hair was returning to its original color following his long-term use of a seed formula that included black seeds and Chardonnay grape seeds. He said, “I don’t care if it looks dirty. I haven’t had blonde hair in 30 years!”
Iranian researchers found black seed is highly effective against skin conditions like eczema.
Without a doubt, the future will reveal more benefits of this little seed – and from other seeds as well.
So for life…
Eat seeds, chew or grind them thoroughly, and claim the healing you deserve.
Hint: Keep your seeds in the freezer and grind them in a small coffee grinder every morning. Consume with your breakfast, in a smoothie, on cereal, on salads, anywhere you can.
