Discover Cancer Up to a Decade Before Most Doctors Would Know

By Lee Euler / April 29, 2015

You may go to great lengths to protect yourself from cancer by your diet, health and lifestyle choices.

Even so, this is no guarantee of success. Many people who lead very healthy lifestyles can and do succumb to this disease.

But what if there was an early warning system, a way of finding cancer within a few months of when the earliest cells form, establish themselves, and start to grow.

If this were possible it would give you up to ten years or more to strangle the beast (metaphorically speaking, of course) — long before conventional tests would ever be able to detect it.

This issue talks about a way to do that. . .

This “Forbidden” Food

Super-Charges Your Brain

It’s being called a “silent epidemic”…

A brain health crisis already growing faster than Alzheimer’s disease or dementia…and affecting the memory and cognitive ability of Americans as young as 40.

Over the next decade, the U.S. government will spend more than $3 billion to study this threat.

But you know what? They don’t need to spend the $3 billion because the major cause of memory loss has already been identified. Yet almost no one knows about it.

Millions of people are losing their memories and seeing their brain health go downhill because nine out of ten of us don’t consume enough of vital nutrients we need for healthy brains. And when it comes to one of the most important nutrients of all…

…we don’t get enough because doctors tell us NOT to eat the foods that happen to be richest in this “missing ingredient for good brain health”!!

That’s right, the very food you need most for memory and cognitive health is a forbidden food! It’s a national scandal… but it’s also an opportunity for you to save your brain and improve your memory like you wouldn’t believe…

Click here and I’ll tell you the full story…

Detection ten years early gives you real power over your own health. No more just hoping for the best, but reliable information you can act on to make sure those newly formed cells are wiped out and never become problematic. It would mean avoiding cancer altogether.

Cancer is a process

In her book Detecting Cancer, Xandria Williams Ph.D., M.Sc., DIC, ND, DBM, MRN states that if the prime cause of cancer originates within us from genetic aberrations or mutagenic damage then our options for preventing or treating it are limited.

However, all the evidence suggests that most cancers – up to 93% according to some researchers – come from external factors such as diet, lifestyle, toxins and stress. We have a great deal of control over them.

Under these circumstances, Dr. Williams regards cancer as a systemic problem that affects the whole body, not a local one (although it may later become localized) .

“In cancer you do not have a disease of an organ or system, you have a disease in an organ or system.”

In her view, cancer is a process in which the tumor is simply the final outcome. It’s the external (predisposing) factors – mostly having to do with our own habits — that set the cancer process in motion.

Early cancer cells could be anywhere in the body. If you detect them, you can undertake a program to reverse the cancer process, ideally with the guidance of an experienced naturopath or integrative M.D.

The problem with tumor markers

Cancer cells shed proteins that can be detected in the blood. Different types and locations of cancer produce different markers.

However not all tumors shed readily identifiable markers.
More importantly, the tumor markers that oncologists test for do not tell you about very early changes at a cellular level. By the time these markers become detectable in the blood, it’s already very late in the cancer process. It’s reached a point where billions of cells have already formed and are continuing to grow.

Dr Williams outlines two non-invasive test panels utilizing blood and urine that are available today. These can reliably pick up the presence of these cells at a very early stage.

The first test panel

The first test panel checks on the levels of lactic acid, phosphohexose isomerase (PHI), human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), thymidine kinase (TK1), telomerase, and carcino embryonic antigen (CEA). Here’s what these markers mean. . .

Lactic Acid: 90% of our energy production occurs in the cells’ mitochondria. When cells turn cancerous, it is common to find decreased mitochondrial function. The cells experience a failure of normal energy production. They rely less on oxygen and more on unhealthy anaerobic (oxygen-free) metabolism.

When this happens, pyruvic acid, which is formed from glucose, can no longer enter the mitochondria, so it is converted to l-lactic acid. (This is different from the d-lactic acid that is produced when we exercise, which is a normal process).

L-lactic acid encourages angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow), helps cancer cells evade the immune system, and facilitates the metastasis (spread) of cancer to other areas of the body.

An increase in this marker suggests cancer may be present.

PHI: This enzyme is found in one of the pathways that make energy. With decreased mitochondrial function, cancer cells must get their energy by increasing the breakdown of glucose. They do this by increasing PHI.

The presence of PHI in higher amounts than normal suggests excessive activity in this pathway, reduced mitochondrial function and a lowered oxygen environment.

PHI increases the likelihood of cancer, encourages its growth, increases the ability of cells to migrate and proliferate, inhibits apoptosis (cancer cell suicide) and stimulates angiogenesis and metastasis.

HCG: Levels of this hormone increase during pregnancy and in men with testicular cancer. However, high HCG is also associated with many other types of cancer. HCG is a complex molecule. Only certain aspects of it will be seen to increase if cancer cells are present. A normal reading is below 1.0 mIU/ml. A reading above 3 suggests a greater susceptibility to cancer or that cancer may already be present.

TK1: This enzyme is needed in the process of normal cell division. Once it has done its job it is released into the bloodstream.

Although wound healing and tissue repair raise levels of TK1, it will be found in higher amounts in active cancer, particularly blood cancers and some solid tumors – kidneys, breast and small cell lung.

It gives an indication of malignancy and aggressiveness of an existing cancer.

Telomerase: Telomeres are fragments of DNA that protect the ends of chromosomes. The number of these fragments shortens will each cell division until the cell can no longer divide. The growth of unwanted tissue is therefore prevented.
To avoid this natural cell aging process, cancer cells produce telomerase. This enzyme increases the number of telomeres to allow never-ending growth. An increase in this marker points to potential excess cell reproduction and active cancer.

CEA: Some researchers believe these proteins are produced to help cancer cells anchor to a new location. They therefore encourage metastasis.

The second test panel

Positive results in some or all of the above suggest irregular cellular activity that could signify the early stages of cancer. In this case, the second test panel should be employed. This gives more detailed information, indicates what to focus on, and will help guide a practitioner to the best recovery strategy for the patient.

The second test panel checks on levels of p53, BAX, Bc1-2, survivin, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2).

p53: Known as a tumor suppressor gene, it hinders the production of cancer cells and ensures DNA replication is done correctly. If a fault is discovered in a strand of DNA, p53 can be activated to carry out repairs. If this fails it can signal cancer cells to self-destruct.

P53 also triggers the production of another protective protein, p21, and regulates other important chemical processes.

Three separate tests should be carried out on different aspects of p53 to cover various possible aberrations.

BAX and Bc1-2: The BAX gene stimulates apoptosis and Bc1-2 does the opposite. They are both required for a healthy system of checks and balances. The former is triggered by p53 and the latter hindered by it.

Tests will check that BAX isn’t too low and Bc1-2 isn’t too high.

Survivin: This protein encourages tissue growth in a developing embryo but should not be found in normal tissue. Survivin inhibits apoptosis and stimulates and encourages cancer to grow. If it is found it suggests cancer is present.

VEGF: This growth factor is important to help the body repair tissue and heal wounds, but is inappropriate when it helps supply new blood vessels for cancers to grow.

MMP-2: For cancer to spread and invade other organs it needs to dissolve the surrounding collagen and connective tissue. MMP-2 is an enzyme that that allows it to do that. While MMP-2 is required for normal cells to grow and expand, this enzyme is commonly raised above normal parameters in active cancer.

Although a conventional doctor may be unwilling to pay any attention to the results of these test panels, let alone advise on treatment options, a holistic practitioner who is experienced with these tests can restore the body to normal homeostasis and full health using a combination of natural protocols.

The test panels are the result of Dr. Williams’ extensive knowledge of biochemistry and naturopathy developed over a period of 35 years. They are not available as standalone profiles that can be ordered. She recommends using two laboratories which together can offer the tests she recommends.

These are American Metabolic Laboratories, and Galkina Lab
