This is NOT your run-of-the-mill cancer treatment!

This is NOT your run-of-the-mill cancer treatment! about undefined
You might find this one hard to swallow—literally. That's because I'm going to tell you why some folks believe it's healthy to reuse one of your bodily fluids as a cancer killer.

It might surprise you to learn that millions of people around the globe have used urine to treat a variety of illnesses. I know: eeeuw! But it might also surprise you to learn there's something to it. So keep reading and I'll explain. . .

You're probably thinking, "Now hold on—isn't urine TOXIC? And couldn't using it as a treatment actually harm your health?"

This is probably your first thought. But many scientists and doctors have conducted research that indicates just the opposite…

News anchor Tom Brokaw highlighted one example during the October 16, 1992 NBC Nightly News broadcast when he reported:
"In Egypt, rescue workers found a 37-year-old man alive in earthquake rubble. He survived almost 82 hours by drinking his own urine. His wife, daughter and mother would not and they died."
Was this just a fluke? Or could there really be something to it?

Used for thousands of years and counting

Using urine for medicinal purposes might very well date back to the first humans to walk the planet.

Many ancient texts from Asia advocate using one's urine to battle a host of diseases. In ancient Rome, urine was used to whiten teeth.

What's more, texts from the Hindu culture recommend massaging fresh urine into the skin for added health benefits.

Moving to modern times, the Xinhua news agency reports that more than three million Chinese drink their urine to benefit their health.

And according to the American Cancer Society (ACS), a Greek doctor named Evangelos Danopolous, MD claimed to have identified anti-cancer properties in urea in the 1950s.

He even claimed to have used urine successfully in treating patients with certain types of skin and liver cancer. His remarkable story is covered in our new Complete Guide to Alternative Cancer Treatments, along with more than 350 other therapies.

Dr. Danopolous published several small positive case reports, but the American Cancer Society said later studies by other researchers did not achieve the same results.

But this Greek doctor was not a lone advocate of urea therapy…

Retired medical oncologist Vincent Speckhart, MD, testified about urea's benefits before a House of Representatives Committee. Dr. Speckhart said he treated a breast cancer patient with urea with startling results.

According to Speckhart, the patient recovered from the cancer and was alive and cancer free 10 years after the treatment!

Here's how urea might help battle cancer…

So what does urine have in it that convinces so many folks it's more than just a waste product?

Well, urine consists of:
  • Water—a whopping 95 percent!
  • Urea—about 2.5 percent
  • Minerals salts, hormones and enzymes—the remaining 2.5 percent
Although urine does contain some body waste, advocates of its medicinal value say this amount isn't substantial enough to be toxic to the body.

If you were to drink your own urine, your digestive system would first sort the components. This process allows your body to reuse beneficial ingredients and reject the toxins.

As to how the beneficial ingredients work, there are several theories…

Some people believe urine can stimulate the immune system to fight the chemical antigens that cancer and other diseases release into the bloodstream.

A healthy immune system immediately releases the appropriate antibodies to fight the invading disease. Because some antigens from cancer cells appear in urine, some researchers believe that ingesting urine will increase the cancer patient's production of helpful antibodies.

This, in turn, would increase the body's ability to clobber cancer cells.

Other advocates of urine therapy suggest that urine prevents cancer cells from clumping. This cuts off their food supply and disrupts their ability to excrete waste. Ultimately, this will cause tumor cells to wither and die.

Still another theory suggests that some urine components build a sort of biochemical shield that works separately from your immune system.

They believe that instead of destroying cancer cells—these protective chemicals in urine simply correct cell defects and prevent them from spreading.

Although there's no consensus on how it might work, proponents of the treatment are convinced that it does!

As expected, not everyone is on board
with this treatment!

I don't need to tell you that some folks find it disgusting to use urine as a medical treatment…

... and the mainstream medical establishment certainly isn't embracing it with open arms.

Dr. Melissa Conrad Stöppler, a board-certified anatomic pathologist, admits that urine can contain tumor antigens. But she says there's no evidence to prove that drinking or applying urine in other ways will stimulate antibody production.

And despite individual reports of urea's ability to stop cancer growth—the ACS contends that "available scientific evidence does not support claims that urine or urea given in any form is helpful for cancer patients." I don't often find myself on the same side as the ACS, but I have to agree there isn't enough evidence for this therapy.

And for those who just can't stomach the thought of urine therapy—no worries. There are plenty of other effective alternative cancer treatments you can choose!
