Over 50 years of proof and this natural cancer treatment STILL gets no respect! about undefined
Your body makes it… your heart craves it… and it may be one of nature's strongest force fields to protect your body from disease…

It's the essential nutrient co-enzyme Q10 or CoQ10 for short. This nutrient is especially critical to your health because of the work it performs inside your cells. If you know about CoQ10 at all, you probably think of it as a supplement for heart and circulation. That's why a huge number of savvy consumers have started taking it in the last 15 years or so.

But I’ve found something just as good or better: CoQ10 is a powerful tool for preventing and even treating cancer. Everyone concerned about cancer should read this. . .Continued below. . .

The only type of CoQ10 you should take now

Find out how this Japanese breakthrough helps you achieve higher levels of CoQ10 in your bloodstream, more energy and even better antioxidant protection.

This is the most bioavailable form of CoQ10 ever. It supports every part of your body. . .
  • Normalizes blood pressure
  • Supports better blood sugar levels
  • Restores healthy gums
  • Repairs damaged cells and even your DNA
  • Promotes healthy weight control
  • Even fosters younger looking skin!
And if you or someone you love is taking a statin drug, this supplement breakthrough is critical for you. Statin drugs dangerously deplete your body's natural CoQ10 levels.

CoQ10 is a protein that stimulates the heart to keep beating at a strong, steady rhythm. It also speeds the rate of chemical reactions in your cells.

This nutrient works inside the mitochondria—the energy factories of your cells—to help turn the foods you eat into ATP molecules. ATP stores the energy you need to keep you moving, breathing and LIVING!

You may be surprised to know that the National Cancer Institute (NCI)1 admits that interest in CoQ10 as a possible cancer treatment for cancer reaches all the way back to 1961.

At that time, scientists discovered that some cancer patients had lower than normal levels of this protein in their blood. And this was found to be the case with a wide variety of patients battling myeloma… lymphoma… and cancers of the breast, colon, kidney, lung, pancreas, and prostate.

NCI gives a nod to the numerous clinical trials and studies that support the use of CoQ10 to boost the immune system and fight cancer cells.

But despite NCI's acknowledgement of CoQ10's superior health benefits—the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) refuses to approve the nutrient as a cancer treatment.

Whaddya have to do to get a little respect from these folks? It's even wackier when you consider what the scientific research shows…

CoQ10 is a first-rate free radical fighter!

NCI and the American Cancer Society (ACS)2 admit that animal studies show CoQ10 boosts your immune system. This is an important way that it helps your body fight cancer and infections.

One preliminary study3 suggests CoQ10 might block the tumor protein molecules called cytokines that contribute to the spread of cancer cells. Cytokines are generally associated with inflammation. This study and others suggest CoQ10 shows real promise as a cancer killer.

For example, in the Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications report of April 15, 1993, Dr. Karl Folkers wrote about 10 cancer patients who received CoQ10 for heart failure.

One 48-year-old male was diagnosed in 1977 with inoperable lung cancer. But once he started to receive CoQ10 treatments, this man showed no signs of either heart failure OR cancer symptoms for the entire 17 years that he took the nutrient!

Cancer specialist Dr. Knud Lockwood in Copenhagen, Denmark used CoQ10 to treat 32 breast cancer patients. As reported in Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, six of the 32 patients showed partial tumor remission.

One 74-year-old woman who had a small tumor removed from her right breast refused a second operation to remove more growths. Instead, she opted for 300 mg of CoQ10 daily.

Three months later, an examination and mammography revealed no evidence of the tumor or that the cancer had spread!

Increasing your CoQ10 levels is a safe and effective way to protect your body from cell-damaging free radicals. But the more researchers study CoQ10—the greater their respect for the remarkable health benefits it conveys!

CoQ10 promotes a healthy heart too!

Many scientists are convinced that CoQ10's antioxidant properties help reduce levels of LDL ("bad") cholesterol in your blood. This is what causes sticky plaque to build in your arteries—which can choke blood flow and lead to heart attacks.

CoQ10 also provides the massive amount of energy your heart needs to pump oxygen-rich blood throughout your body. Studies show that by keeping your heart properly nourished with CoQ10, you can help prevent heart problems.

According to study results published in an August 1993 report in the Clinical Investigator, a 12-month double-blind study compared 319 patients taking CoQ10 with 322 taking a placebo. Scientists observed that CoQ10 reduced complications of heart failure as well as the need for hospitalization.

Believe it or not—the Physicians' Desk Reference has included CoQ10 as an essential nutrient for several years! Your body naturally makes CoQ10 but, as with other healthy substances, you tend to produce less of it as you age.

You can also boost your intake by eating foods rich in CoQ10, such as:
  • Anchovies
  • Beef heart
  • Broccoli
  • Mackerel
  • Nuts
  • Salmon
  • Sardines
  • Spinach
These foods contain some, but certainly not all, of the CoQ10 nutrients you need for optimal cell energy. If you're over 50, consider taking a supplement to increase your supply.

I take a CoQ10 supplement myself and have for several years. In fact, I take the most potent (and expensive) form of it, called ubiquinol, which the body is able to utilize at a far higher rate than ordinary CoQ10 supplements.

Your body has to convert the less expensive, more common type of CoQ10 into ubiquinol. The conversion process is not very efficient. So if your supplement is actually ubiquinol in the first place, your body doesn't have to perform the conversion process, and the nutrients do you far more good. One of our valued sponsors offers a high-quality ubiquinol supplement — click here if you'd like to check it out.

There are no serious side effects associated with taking CoQ10. In fact, many doctors DO give it a little respect—even if their suggestion is to use it to reduce side effects of chemotherapy.

So CoQ10 has developed a 50-year reputation as a versatile immune-boosting, tumor-reducing powerhouse nutrient.

Combined with its proven heart health benefits—CoQ10 probably deserves WAY more respect than mainstream medicine chooses to dole out!

Of course, there are MANY great supplements to help prevent and treat cancer. We wrote about another one in the last issue. If you missed it, scroll down and take a look now.

Can eating Italian food
cut your cancer risk?

Your mouth probably waters at the thought of a favorite Italian dish featuring savory spices such as fresh basil, rosemary and sage.

And many of these dishes aren't complete without a rich tomato sauce to layer on the pasta or vegetables.

While you may lick your lips just thinking about it—that same dish can make a cancer cell see RED. Keep reading to find out what these delicious foods can do to cancer. . .Continued below. . .

The Case Against Detoxing

Why detoxing can actually make your body more toxic…Plus what to do instead to rid your body of pesticides, heavy metals, and other dangerous chemicals You’ve probably heard that detoxing is good for your health. You’ve heard it can remove pesticides, heavy metals and chemicals from your body. You’ve heard that it can bolster your immune system and help support a healthy liver.

But here’s something you should know: Detoxing can actually make your body more toxic! That’s right, detoxing can actually make you sicker!
Tomato's powerful health benefits are credited to a component called lycopene. Numerous studies suggest lycopene may affect cancers of the bladder, breast, cervix, colon, esophagus, lung, prostate, skin and stomach.

It's a phytochemical -- a plant nutrient -- that gives foods such as guava, pink grapefruit, tomatoes and watermelon their color.

Lycopene belongs to the carotenoid family of nutrients, but unlike alpha-carotene and beta-carotene, your body does NOT use it to make vitamin A. But your body DOES use it as a powerful antioxidant…

Lycopene helps stop body rot!

Free radicals are highly destructive molecules or atoms that are short of an electron and looking to steal one from another molecule or atom. They cause a great deal of damage to the body and are one of the principal causes of aging and disease. Unfortunately, your body is bombarded by free radicals every single day.

You come in contact with these cell-damaging molecules through radiation from the sun or x-rays… cigarette smoke… smog… and the hundreds of toxins you inhale when breathing or ingest in food and water…

Free radicals cause your body to age and rust from the inside out. But the good news is antioxidants can soak up free radicals like sponges.

When your body has plenty of antioxidants available, it can minimize the harm that free radicals cause. Several studies suggest that antioxidants even protect against the type of cell damage that causes various types of cancer. Consider a few examples of how lycopene…
  • Pounces on pancreatic cancer!A Canadian study examined the effects of carotenoids on pancreatic cancer risk over several years. Researchers found that lycopene from tomatoes helped reduce pancreatic cancer by 31 percent in patients who ate the most tomatoes or tomato products versus those who consumed the least ("Dietary Intake of Lycopene is Associated with Reduced Pancreatic Cancer Risk" — The Journal of Nutrition — March 2005).
  • Levels lung cancer!A study published in the October 2000 American Journal of Clinical Nutrition looked at the effects of carotenoids on the incidence of lung cancer. Investigators found lung cancer risk was reduced significantly among patients who had higher lycopene intake in their diet. The study's authors noted that diets providing 400 to 600 grams of fruit and vegetables daily are associated with a reduced risk of lung cancer. They also found that "smoking alters the concentrations of most carotenoids, including alpha carotene and beta carotene but not lycopene. Therefore, lycopene may have a special role in lung cancer prevention."
  • Pummels prostate cancer!A Harvard University study of nearly 48,000 men determined that those who ate more than two servings of tomato sauce each week were up to 36 percent less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than those who ate less than one serving of tomato sauce a month over a 12-year period (Journal of the National Cancer Institute — December 6, 1995).
  • Blasts breast cancer! An epidemiological study published in the April 2008 American Journal of Clinical Nutrition followed more than 84,000 postmenopausal women for seven years. While documenting their intake of lycopene-rich foods and lycopene supplements, researchers also noted any incidence of breast cancer. The authors concluded that consuming lycopene contributed to noticeably reduced incidence of this dreaded disease.
Pretty impressive stuff, huh? Another thing I like about lycopene is that, apparently, cooking and processing don't destroy it — unlike many other valuable nutrients that can't take high temperatures. It seems that lycopene remains present in catsup, tomato sauce — in all kinds of heavily processed foods made from tomatoes. For once, you don't forfeit all the food value.

But are the studies I've cited enough proof of lycopene's ability to act as an effective, all-natural cancer killer? Not everyone thinks so...

Mainstream medicine gives lycopene
a lukewarm reception

The American Cancer Society (ACS) website points out that two studies published in 2007—one following 1,500 men and the second featuring more than 28,000 men—found no difference in the blood lycopene levels of those who later developed prostate cancer and those who did not.

They also contend that animal studies which suggest that lycopene suppresses brain and breast tumors should be taken with a grain of salt—considering that mice are not men. This is true — as far as it goes.

ACS said that because most of the studies touting lycopene's benefits are case control or other observational studies they tend to be more error prone. They suggest that more clinical trials are needed to truly determine its effectiveness. As always, more study is needed. I won't argue with that.

But the ACS is a bitter enemy of alternative remedies, so take their opinion for what it's worth. You can bet their standard of proof is nowhere near as high for conventional drugs — but when it comes to a substance found in food, no evidence is ever enough.

And when it comes to all kinds of dangerous chemicals that cause cancer, the ACS sees no evil as long as the manufactures donate generously. If you don't believe me, check out Issue #98.

I pay little attention to them. As I've often noted, it's very hard to "prove' the long-term effect, over many decades, in millions of people, from consuming just one of the thousands of substances found in plants. The evidence for lycopene is not bullet-proof, but it's strong enough that I take this supplement myself.

In any case, you definitely won't harm yourself by eating more of the colorful fruits and veggies that are rich sources of lycopene! What's the worst that can happen? You'll eat more of these delicious foods.

And you always have the option of boosting your dietary intake with a lycopene supplement. Several brands are readily available in stores or on the Internet.

These measures can give your body added protection and boost its natural defenses against abnormal cell growth.
